How to Choose a Niche Product Using eBay Pulse

Choosing a niche that is profitable is the most important aspect to your affiliate marketing campaign. You want to offer a unique product that consumers are actually buying instead of a product where the market is already heavily saturated.

There are many sites that will offer you tools for doing your niche research and one of them is called eBay Pulse at http://pulse.ebay.com.

As soon as you log onto the site, you will see the most popular products that produce the most searches. You want to shy away from these because you will not find a creative niche product by choosing a product that has a heavily saturated market. Instead you will need to dig a little deeper into the most popular searches on eBay.

Digging Deeper in the Popular Searches

Digging deeper into the most popularly searched items means you have to go into sub-categories and then get more specific from there.

Choose a Product of Interest: Before you begin researching a niche product, do your brainstorming and make a list of things that are of interest to you. For an example, we will assume you want to offer a book.

Begin with Categories: Begin your research by clicking on the “Category” menu located above the popular searches on the eBay Pulse home page. Find the category that correlates with the product you are interested in offering. In the case of our example, choose “Book” from the category menu. You will once again see a list of popular searches but again, these will be too broad and have a high probability of a saturated market.

Go to Sub Categories: Above the list of popular searches for books you will once again see the “Category” menu. Click on the menu to locate a sub category that is more specific to your product. For an example, choose “Catalogs” from the submenu.

Go Further Into Sub Categories: Once you choose “Catalogs” from the menu, a page will appear with popular searches for different types of catalogs. You will once again, click on the “Category menu” located above the popular searches and dig down deeper into the niche for catalogs.

Perhaps you chose “Clothing and Fashion.” From there you can dig further into subjects such as vintage catalogs, etc. The whole idea is to dig down as deep as you can and focus the niche as specifically as possible.

Discover a Unique Product: Once you have gotten deep enough into your research, look for something that appears to stand out from all of the other products or offers something unique about it.

Do Keyword Research: Once you have discovered your product it is time to find out what keywords are related to it as well as what kind of traffic the product is generating. You can do this by accessing Google Keyword Tool External in your AdWords account.

Check eBay Results

Once you have an idea of the keywords that are being used to search for your niche product, as well as the kind of traffic that you can generate from the searches, it is time to check the eBay results. It is important to remember that your search results must show a sufficient supply of products on eBay for the keywords you are using.

Once you have completed all of these steps, it is time to choose a domain name, set up your landing page, and create an effective pay per click marketing campaign that will be based on the results of your keyword research.

New Google Insights for Search Features

Google Insights for Search helps marketers to understand search behavior, and adds some cool features like a world heat map to graphically display search volume and regional interest.

Last week Google launched additional features that will provide more granular data so you can make better informed advertising decisions.

New data sources – additional data from Google News, Image and Product Search sites so you can see what the world is searching for beyond Google Web Search. For example, retailers could use the Product Search filter to get a better understanding of what people are more likely to buy, and then stock the appropriate products.

Category suggestions – Ever wonder what other categories your search terms might be classified under? Insights for Search now suggests category breakdowns for your terms. For example, if you type in the search term “apple“, Insights for Search will show you all the relevant categories searches are classified under such as Computers & Electronics, Entertainment, and Food & Drink.

Metros for the U.S. – You can now drill down to specific geographic regions, or metros, to see how search interest levels vary. This can help you with geo-targeting in your AdWords campaigns.

A Cool Keyword Research Strategy To Find The Hottest Niche

Since you are already here, you are probably already aware of how helpful PPC Bully can be in researching the keywords and develop your strategies for online marketing, especially for your pay per click campaign. But, in order to make the best use of this tool, you must know about your niche. The problem here is that hunting for the right niche is not an easy thing. There are millions of choices out there. Moreover, you are not even aware of most of them. So, how are you going to go about it? Snap.com is the answer to your question. It offers you the coolest strategy to find the hottest niche – something with high demand and comparatively low competition – the perfect combination.

Much More Than Just Some Common Keyword Ideas

Snap.com is a new school type of search engine. The most special thing about this search engine is that when you type a keyword into its search functions, it starts giving you keyword suggestions based on the word you type. Google has also started offering this technology now. But, Snap.com was probably the first one to offer this cool technology. However, you can use either of them.

If you are interested in a specific subject, the process for niche hunting can be very easy for you, as all you do now is to dig deeper into the sub categories under that subject and choose the one that appeals to you. For example, if you are a yoga enthusiast, all you have to do is just to enter the keyword “yoga” and Snap.com will allow you to explore its sub-categories, such as “yoga mat”, “yoga cloths”, and other such things.

The difficult part starts when you do not have the slightest of clue on which subject or niche you want to run your online venture on. The process here is still the same. It is just that in this case, you have to be a bit creative in entering the main keyword or keyword phrase in the search box. For example, look at these common keyword phrases – “make money”, “how to”, “guide to” “abc of”, and many others. The list can be endless and you can definitely come up with your own ideas. Now, when you enter one of these common keyword phrases in the search box of Snap.com or Google, you will get dozens of related keyword ideas. For example, when you enter “how to”, the related keyword ideas may include “how to get pregnant”, “how to make money”, “how to lose weight”, “how to make a website”, and hundreds of other such keyword phrases.

You can dig deeper by “playing with alphabet letters”. For example, when you enter “how to a”, you will get some related keyword ideas, such as “how to apply makeup”, “how to ask a girl out”, “how to ask for a raise”, and many others. Likewise, you can also try entering “how to ab”, “how to ac”, “how to b”, how to ba”, “how to be”, and so on. You will get dozens of keywords ideas for each keyword phrase you enter. As you can see, the permutation and combination here can eventually bring you hundreds of niche ideas to choose from.

This way, you can find even the most obscure niche that you are probably interested in but is something that you probably could never have even thought of on your own. But again, for the competitive intelligence part, you will need the help of PPC Bully. PPC Bully tool helps you to dig deeper into the marketplace so that you can have a better understanding of the competition in your chosen niche.

Curb Your “Niche” Blues With This PPC Bully Strategy

If you have been using Internet for quite some time, you must be already aware of the website called dmoz.org. This is an open directory project and majority of the people know about it. Still, very few people have ever realized the power of this human-edited directory, which is undoubtedly the largest on the web. There are around five million websites listed on this directory under 590,000 different categories. Most people overlook the fact that these different categories are actually niches. Imagine! 590,000 niches are right there at your fingertips. But, how many times do we find people using this ultimate open directory project for niche hunting?

An Innovative Idea To Find The Right Niche

Niche hunting can be a very time-consuming and frustrating process if you don’t have any idea where to look out. Most of the times, it has been seen that people simply keep thinking about an array of things. But, there is a limit on the number of things you can think about. As far as a niche for an online venture is concerned, it can be an obscure topic but may still be highly profitable. Obviously, your imagination may never get even close to those ideas. Therefore, this is the time to be a little creative and smart. Using Dmoz for niche hunting is an innovative idea and it really works.

The best thing about Dmoz is that it is free to access. Besides that, it does not provide you with an unorganized list. Such lists only confuse. Just think about it – around 6 million niches listed in alphabetical order. Horrible! Such lists cannot be of much help. But, the good news is that the niches provided by Dmoz are categorized in a methodical way. Things are organized in such a way that you can easily find sub-categories by breaking down the high level niches. You can dig deeper and eventually find out the most suitable niche – something you can easily promote too.

For example, if you are thinking about a business related niche, you can click on the “Business” category on the home page. You will be transferred to a new page with sub-categories, such as “accounting”, “investing”, “employment”, “human resources” and others. Now, if you hit on “accounting”, this will take you to another page with sub-categories of “accounting”, such as “small businesses”, “firms”, “household employment”, and others. You can dig down even further by clicking on one of these links. Let’s say you click on “small businesses”. This will lead you to another page with a list of relevant website. Even each of these websites carries a specific niche. For example, when you look within these sites, you can find a niche as “affordable small business solutions”. This just might be the niche you were looking for.

Once you choose the niche, what you are going to do about it? Don’t expect any more help from Dmoz. They will not tell you how to build and run a successful online venture based on that niche, but creating a Bully project will definitely do. This way, when you use the power of Dmoz with PPC Bully strategies, you simply take a firm step towards success.
