Case Study – Hoodia Leads in France

I warn you this is not a a standard case study!
I got an offer from CrispAds to promote a diet pill (Hoodia) in France.
To tell you the truth, beside the fact that I was in Paris with my wife,
I really don’t understand any French at all…
But, this looked like an interesting challenge and I was happy to make a case study out of it.
So, I got their website (attached):
http://www.hoodiaregime.com/hoodiagratuit/int/
I entered the above web site to Google Keyword tool:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
and asked for French keywords in France.
I also checked for keywords about Hoodia.
Last but not least, I made sure that there is traffic for Hoodia.
Now, I took all those keywords (about 300) and put them into a new PPC Bully project in France.
I let PPC Bully run for 3 weeks and searched if there are any affiliates doing direct linking to this offer.
Currently PPC Bully doesn’t identify CrispAd affiliate network.
But, (TIP) I searched using the search feature according to the URL pattern:
http://www.inteletrack.com/XXXXYYYYYZZZZZ
I searched for any Destination URL containing the string “inteletrack”
And guess what, I found an affiliate doing this.
In fact, there were 2 ads running during the whole 3 weeks.
So, now all I had to do is to launch a campaign in my AdWords account.
While I know the Keywords, Ad (2 ads) and Direct linking to that offer…
These are the ads:

Now, Just to make sure I’m not writing something completely stupid
I use Google Translator and translated the ads and they looks like this:
Get Your Free Sample
Hoodia – shipping cost at € 1.95
That’s make a good sense….
That’s it.
I was Surprised from the Results -
200% ROI and start selling from day one!
Now, if I take it further from here:
I can create new landing page and put 2 different Hoodia offers with this type of leads.
So I actually can increase my ROI (on the same click cost)
PPC Bully will help you penetrate new niches, languages and countries.
It is not replace the whole process, but it will definitely make it much more easy.
I strongly recommend you using it in as many creative ways as possible.

It does exactly the same type of research that I do manually in a much shorter time frame than I can possibly do... I wish I had this tool when I started out; it would have really accelerated my success. It's going to save you a 'Ton' of time and money... I strongly recommend this tool!

I don’t understand how these people get away with direct linking using clickbank. That’s never worked for me at at all.

Direct linking is one of the hard ways to do affiliate marketing today , with the high competition in place…especially in Google.
I recommend you to use the results from PPC Bully and learn what other are doing.
If you find the right combination of keywords/ads/merchants the conversion rate may be good and worth it.
Important statistics to know is:
95% of direct linking is simply not profitable enough!
Direct linking works good for leads or if directed to a very targeted landing page!
Saying the above, I strongly recommend you to do landing pages.
Excuse me for being direct here….Don’t be Lazy…build landing pages!
The conversion rates are 3 to 4 times better then direct linking.
Another Tip I can give you is:
Use the results of the profitable combination you found in PPC Bully for direct linking and prepare a small landing page with your domain name, so you’ll not compete on the same destination URL.

- How many of your intial 300 keywords came back as profitable according to PPC Bully?
- How many of those did you then enter into your google search campaign?
- How many of those turned out to be profitable in your google search campaign?

I had profitable ad per almost every keyword
But, I was looking for the profitable direct linking ads and keywords.
I Found 28 keywords
I Took 12 of them to be in a tight ad group and those with the higher traffic estimates.
Profitable ones are in my campaign are 6, other have not enough statistics yet.
